If you play Clash Royale, you may be wondering how you can get Trade Tokens after a recent update that changed how you can get them. Trade Tokens are mostly found as Global Tournament rewards now, but you can sometimes find them as special deals in the Shop. In this article we'll go over everything you need to know about getting (and using) Trade Tokens in Clash Royale.
Clash Royale Trade Tokens Basics
- Global Tournaments sometimes award Trade Tokens, which occur twice a month.
- You can also sometimes buy Trade Tokens in the Shop, but this costs real money.
- Trade Tokens can be used to trade cards with clanmates or the NPC Trader.

Global Tournaments. Trade tokens can sometimes be obtained via Global Tournaments. Global Tournaments won't always have Trade Tokens available as a reward, so keep checking back to see if any Global Tournaments are offering tokens.[1]
- You must be King Level 19 to participate in Global Tournaments.
- Global Tournaments are held twice a month, so if the current tournament doesn't have a Trade Token reward, you'll have to wait for the next one to start.

The Shop. Sometimes, you can get Trade Tokens from packs in the Shop. It's not a guarantee, so if you don't see any Trade Tokens for sale in the Shop you'll have to wait until some new special offers are added.[2]
- Trade Tokens cost real money to buy in the Shop, and the price will vary depending on the offer currently available.

You must be King Level 16 to use Trade Tokens. If you aren't King Level 16 yet, you can still collect Trade Tokens but you can't use them.[3]

When trading, you will potentially give/get more than one card. This depends on the rarity of the trade. Note that you will be giving/getting multiples of the same card (i.e. if you trade an Epic card, you'll be giving 10 of that card to your trade partner. Likewise, you'll then get 10 copies of the card you traded for). The number of cards you'll get/give are as follows:
- Common: 250 cards
- Rare: 50 cards
- Epic: 10 cards
- Legendary: 1 card

You can use Trade Tokens to trade cards with your clanmates. To access the Trade screen, tap Request Card then Trade. From this screen you can select a card to request. There are a few things to know when trading with another player:
- You can only trade for a card rarity that matches your token rarity (for example, if you have a Rare Trade Token you can only trade for a Rare card).
- After you request a card, you can select up to 4 cards of the same rarity as your Trade Token and requested card to exchange for your requested card.
- When accepting a trade, you must have a Trade Token plus one of the cards requested by the other user.
- If you get a card in trade that you already have maxed out (or that you have enough cards to max it out), you'll get Gold from the trade instead.

You can also trade with the NPC Trader. The NPC Trader is an option if no one in your clan has the cards you want, or you just don't feel like trading with someone in your clan.
- When initiating an NPC Trader trade, you'll select one of three pre-selected cards to give the Trader. Then you will select one of three pre-selected cards to get from the Trader.
- You'll need one Trade Token of corresponding rarity to complete a trade with the NPC Trader.
- You can reroll the three pre-selected cards you can give to or get from the trader for 10 Gems.
- The Trader will only offer Epic trades on Sundays, and will only offer Legendary trades if you have 2,000 or more Trophies.
- The Trader's deals reset at midnight local time.
